// The Poppy Girls

In what may become a regular feature, The Royal British Legion held open auditions to create the first ever Poppy Girls band in association with legendary UK record label Decca Records. We were asked to create the format and film the events.

We were involved from the early strategic phases and pre-production, through to filming the rounds of auditions at Decca HQ, creating a professional, broadcast-quality production using a professional presenter. We also filmed the band selection process and the final performance in front of Her Majesty The Queen, at the Festival of Remembrance. We carefully included The Royal British Legion’s branding throughout the production.

Our four-part online series and music video helped send the girls into the charts and delivered The Royal British Legion national coverage from the BBC’s The One Show, The Telegraph and The Daily Mail, amongst many others, as well as achieving over 200,000 YouTube views.

"The Royal British Legion asked RAW to help them develop the charity’s video output in an innovative way. The result was a body of content that has changed how people perceive us, from an old man’s club to a charity that is still relevant in the 21st Century."
