As part of The Royal British Legion’s remembrance of the centenary of World War I, they required a short promotional video to engage audiences and encourage them to participate in ‘Lights Out’, a nationwide memorial event.
Alongside the Legion’s retail partner Marks and Spencer’s media campaign, the ‘Lights Out’ campaign was based around the sale and lighting of branded candles. A variety of Legion supporters, including some famous faces and veterans, agreed to be filmed for the piece. The black infinity background and minimal lighting was a considered approach to create a thoughtful atmosphere and emphasise the candlelight as the focal point of the piece.
The video was pushed as a YouTube advert and through The Legion’s social media to promote the event and their retail partnership. The campaign is currently running.
