// Jump4Heroes – The Eiger

The Royal British Legion asked us to create a breakthrough extreme sports film that would amaze and engage younger audiences, whilst spreading awareness of the great work of The Royal British Legion.

Approach

We worked closely with Jump4Heroes to plan and execute one of the most stunning and professional wingsuit flying videos ever made. We wanted to make this film cinematic, unlike most other GoPro POV films you see on YouTube. This had to be special, outstanding, memorable and sharable. We captured the team wingsuit flying in formation from the north face of The Eiger using a number of innovative filming techniques including four DSLR cameras, ten GoPro cameras and one helicopter-mounted gyro camera. The final post production work required careful grading to enhance the footage, at which time we gently blended in The Royal British Legion’s branding.

Results

Our explosive 2-minute film was distributed across YouTube, amazing over 250,000 viewers. The Royal British Legion were blown away by this film and it continues to rack up hits on YouTube and social media, achieving exactly what it set out to do. It has gained respect from others in the extreme sports community and was featured on hundreds of news websites and blogs globally, including the BBC, ITV, Telegraph, Guardian, Channel4 and The Daily Mail. The film was widely revered in our industry too and went on to be nominated for a global Sony Production award. Due to the popularity of this film, we created a making of the Eiger film.
