// Live 360 video @ PAX Boston
View the video here to see the behind the scenes of the event:
Nock were partnering with their clients YouTube and Google, who are launching a 360 degree video platform on YouTube in the coming months. This live experiential installation was to give visitors a taste of what’s to come on the site.
A gang of famous YouTube creators were on hand to appear in the videos with punters. We set up a green screen studio and lighting to enable us to capture their frolics and live key their performances on to a 360 degree video panorama. This would then be uploaded to YouTube with an ID number that the contributors would take away with them to view the content after 24 hours.
The execution required a month of pre-production – testing the live workflow and ensuring that the panoramas would be correctly stitched in the software. The video files were all created on the fly, with idents, camera layers and music being called live using switching software.
As far as we’re aware, this was a world first!
You can see the YouTube channel here, showcasing the films from the day, although it’s best viewed on a tablet or smartphone to enable the true augmented 360 degree experience.
